Tree Gifts dedicated between April 1st 2011, and March 31st 2012 were planted in Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Northern California. Trees planted were native species Ponderosa pine, Jeffrey pine, Incense cedar, and Douglas fir.
In 2008 the Lime Complex Fire, Iron Complex Fire, Cedar Fire, and Lightning Complex Fire burned thousands of acres of trees, leaving large areas so devastated that the trees can't regenerate themselves.
