Tree gifts dedicated between July 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014 are longleaf pine and were planted in early 2015.
Blackwater River State Forest is in the Florida Panhandle region.
Due to wildfires and extensive hurricane damage, Blackwater River is home to struggling populations of red cockaded woodpeckers, gopher tortoises and Florida black bears.
Forest restoration is desperately needed so these and other species of animals can thrive once again.
